In a significant move for India’s commercial real estate investment landscape, BSE Index Services has launched India’s first REITs and Commercial Real Estate Index. The new benchmark is designed to track the performance of listed Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and companies with substantial exposure to commercial real estate.
The index aims to support passive investment products such as ETFs and index funds, enabling investors to gain diversified exposure to income-generating commercial real estate assets. Industry experts believe this initiative will expand investment opportunities in the REIT sector, encourage the development of innovative investment products, and make commercial real estate investing more accessible, transparent, and convenient for both retail and institutional investors.
