The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority Lottery 2026 application deadline has been extended. Additional time has been provided to Mumbai residents for completing application process. Relief is expected to be received by many applicants who missed earlier deadlines. The extension was announced by officials last week. The MHADA lottery every year brings thousands of home buyers to Mumbai with affordable housing solutions.
The total number of flats offered through this year’s lottery is 2,640, spread across different areas of Mumbai such as Goregaon, Borivali, Chembur, Bandra, Powai, Wadala, Dadar, Ghatkopar, and Vikhroli.
Sources say that around 66 percent of these flats have been under construction. MHADA is offering several income categories in this lottery, starting from Economically Weaker Section (EWS) to Lower Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG), and Higher Income Group (HIG). The most affordable housing property in MHADA lottery is an EWS Category house situated in Mankhurd. The flat costs around ₹29 lakh.
At the other end, the most expensive property in MHADA lottery 2026 is the highest-end property and falls into HIG Category. The luxury flat is located at Crescent Tower in Tardeo. It spans a wide area of 1,838 sq. ft and costs ₹6.82 crore.
Now, as per revised schedule, online applications can be submitted till 28th May and earnest money deposits through internet banking can be completed till 29th May 2026. Those who want to pay their earnest money deposit via RTGS/NEFT can do so till May 29 during working hours. Once registration closes, MHADA will issue the provisional list of successful applications on June 10 via MHADA Housing Portal.
A window period will be set from June 10 to 12 to enable any alterations in the applications. Lastly, the final list of successful applicants will be published by MHADA on June 16. Conversely, the MHADA will make known the date and place where the computerized lottery draw will take place.
Despite an overall increase in property prices in Mumbai, MHADA’s housing scheme continues to attract buyers due to relatively low price tags. Property experts suggest that the deadline extension will further increase applicants’ numbers, particularly first-time buyers who are arranging necessary documents and financial means.
With a rapid increase in property prices, MHADA housing scheme lottery remains among the most accessible options in Mumbai.
